Present: Mary Beth Daniels, Inez Janger, Ellen McCabe, Roberta Raimon, Beth Toomey, Terre Young.
Meeting for our first time, we worked together to identify caregivers, who they care for, caretakers what their needs are or might be and what a caretaker is compared to a caregiver.
Caregivers For: Needs:
Wife Parent continuing education
husband Child (disabeled) counsel
child Spouse financial advice or dollars

We agreed that a caretaker is one who is employed for caregiving or a volunteer-either can be from an agency, or community congregation, or privately paid.
We will look at off island agencies and groups, island agencies, and groups, collect any materials and information, and come together in the Hospice of MV office on January 21, 2014, 1:30 pm.
Just before leaving we agreed (for now) on this mission statement:
The mission of caregivers support committee: building island capacity and integration to support caregiving.
Please think on this mission statement and bring any suggestions for change to the next meeting.
Respectfully submitted, Terre D. Young
